Independence, always
We are not affiliated with the game's developer, and we accept nothing from them. No sponsors, no placements, no favours. If that ever changes, you'll read about it here first — in a very apologetic tone.
Home / About
Chicken Road is written entirely by fans of the Chicken Road arcade game. This page tells you who we are, why the magazine exists, the promises we hold our own writing to, and — just as useful — what we are not.
It began, like many good things, with a small frustration. Almost everything written about Chicken Road fell into two piles: breathless excitement that explained nothing, and identical boilerplate that explained even less. Nowhere could we find the version we wanted to read — warm, patient, and honest about how the game actually works.
So a few of us who genuinely love this little game started writing it ourselves. First a shared notebook of lane observations. Then a set of guides. Then this magazine — a small independent desk where the game is explained gently, the difficulty modes get the respect they deserve, and no reader is ever shouted at.
We like this game. That's the whole origin. Everything else on this page exists to keep that fondness honest.
Short enough to fit on a postcard. Kept by the same people who wrote them.
We are not affiliated with the game's developer, and we accept nothing from them. No sponsors, no placements, no favours. If that ever changes, you'll read about it here first — in a very apologetic tone.
We write about Chicken Road as exactly what it is: a reaction-and-timing game played for fun. Every article keeps it firmly in the entertainment box, because that's where it belongs and where it shines.
When the game's own info panel states numbers, we treat the panel as the authority and our tables as friendly commentary. Versions change; we re-check rather than assume.
You won't find "insane", "secret" or "everyone's doing it" on these pages. If a claim needs capital letters to survive, it doesn't survive our desk.
Mistakes get fixed on the page and noted in the mailbag, not quietly swept away. Readers who catch our errors are thanked — after the editor has finished wincing.
Every guide assumes you're here because crossing lanes makes you smile. Our advice exists to protect that enjoyment, never to optimise it into homework.
